Though it's not really a touristy type place, I'd say Rasvihar in Nungambakkam is a "must visit" place on anyone's itinerary. It's a beautiful jewellery store in a restored heritage building. I'd include Sundari Silks in T.Nagar as well as Fabindia on Woods Road. The Museum Theatre in Egmore is unlike any other in the world buy not many people know about it, I guess.
